I don't know whether people know this or not, but I am an avid reader of the Star Wars novels. Though I have been reading for a heck of a long time , I still have yet to memorise the different eras. Especially before the series started (Since I have yet to get a hold onto the comics)

What did get me into the series (and the movies!) was the trilogy: Jedi Academy Trilogy written by Kevin J. Anderson. The way he wrote allowed me, a newbie in the series, understand and visualize the Star Wars world of being just huge spaceships fighting each other. It made me know the characters to a greater depth.

Not so recently, I picked up a new saga of Mr. Anderson's titled "The Saga of Seven Suns". Started when I picked up the book in the library and ever since the first book, I kept reading and reading about the adventures of the different personas in the books and the fundamental wars of the elementals.

Just 2 hours before, I finished the 6th book "Metal Swarm" and I want "The Ashes of Worlds" now dangit! Dx

Sad though, my favourite character died. Why does my characters always die!?! Dx

Tomorrow I'll be going back to the plant to start the 4th week of my internship here in Fujairah. 4 weeks! Bloody Hell! So fast 3 weeks have passed!

In other news, Me and my father went to Deira City center yesterday in Dubai. We had a mini-movie marathon. Okay it was only 2 movies back to back but still it was damn worth it. First lemme just mention that the movie ticket costs 30dhs each, which is about S$15! @_@

First we watched Valkyrie, starring Tom Cruise. Since I was with my father, we watched a military movie first. It was about WW2 and an attempt by some German soldiers to assassinate Hitler to achieve "Their Germany" using Operation Valkyrie. German history isn't my strong point but I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and the direction of the movie.

Then we headed to another movie theater with the same ticket (not that they mind... much). We watched Revolutionary Road. This one had DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. Its a very disturbing and depressing show to watch. Kinda like a shot to my heart a bit. All I can say about it is that Frank should have stayed home and not go to work that day. Sigh...

So far, my internship is teaching me that adulthood doesn't mean that maturity of thought comes along with it. =_=

I've got myself a facebook! No thanks to Chin bugging me! Dx But its fun! XD Those of you who know me can add me! Provided I know you first! =p

Now I'm eating my dinner! Something I just thought of on the fly. Microwave the potato, mash it, add a bit of butter, salt and black pepper (somehow my father doesn't have white pepper!) and 3 cream cheese of the smiling cow! Not bad. When I added in the Duck Delice and rolled it into a ball, it tasted delicious! Okay okay.. needed more salt. But the cheese compensated for it.

Looks good!

And 3 days of rain so far in Fujairah. Desert rains come most unexpectantly! I took some pics from my block of ust before the rains.

Happy New year! Its 2009 now and already into the 2nd week. Things come, things go. *Add in sentimental crap here*

Been busy the past few days. Now I'm in Fujairah having my internship training. And I'll be here till June.

So far, the work style here is so slack. I'll miss it when I get back! I've made friends with my colleagues, Fatima, Badreeya, Maha and some others. The locals are not so bad, I have to get past the cultural barrier which can be difficult at times. Not to mention I have to learn Arabic! Dx

My first week has passed. I start on Sundays and my week ends on Thursdays. So don't come calling on Sundays!

That reminds me, I've got a report to do. Tml meeting with my supervisor!

...was delicious! Except for the Buffalo Wings. The vinegar and garlic taste was too sharp making it just not nice. Really. That's what I love about being in the UAE. I get to eat things which are not halal in most of the other parts of the world. 8D

So, in a few hours I'll be flying off back to Singapore. Flight's gonna be at 10am, so gotta be at the airport by 7am, meaning i gotta wake up in 3 hours time. =_= Will reach Sg at 2125. So if anybody is thinking of fetching us, you can just come by! XD

Rawr for EOY! Things I've learnt while making the Cao Ren costume:
1) Using craft foam as platemail is just asking for it as its not heavy enough just to weigh it down.
2) Wire mesh works wonders and you can go bbq later! 8D
3) Ugh... I need a better medium to work with... T_T

I just bought the chicken wire (Everyone avoided me as I walked through the market). A nice woman helped me pick out the scissors/shears to cut it. Now then... How can I not make it poke me too much.. Hrmz...

Heh Heh... This morning I just finished my first and only paper for the semester, Civil Engineering Management. Not bad. Most of the questions are from the tutorials and the past year papers, so it wasn't that bad. But still, I hope to get at least an A (aiming high here) XD

So, I treated myself to a beef bento at the Quad. It was delish! Then me being me, needed to do my AFA job. =_=;;; I bought the envelopes (A4 and A3) sigh... Just now I exhausted my yellow ink with the printing for the lil rabbit. Not bad la. Cutting... Getting like 9 pieces per page. I cut them individually an now I'm sticking on the pieces onto the envelopes.

I hate myself sometimes, but I love this aspect of me who just needs things to be done quickly.

Argh... and tml I'll be doing my Yoshimoto baldpatch. @_@ Another trip to Artfriends for the liquid latex. oh my wallet...

Been feeing down the past week. Sick and so completely unmotivated to do anything. Anyway. Had the KW gathering last week with Insp. Chin and Crim and Yame. Fun people. Walked around a bit. Then met up with Huijie after work. We broke fast at Marina square Food loft! X3~~~

Anyway. Gifts for the people that came. Crim got the Orochi cards while we got the MO character pins. They're so beautiful!!! I also got the DW5: Empires notebook from Chin. The cover is so nice with Ah Liang on top, Yi-chan below and Yuyu in between! >=D

Of Genshiken and lifearts and me

Its 4am here and I just finished reading Genshiken. Granted its not the kind of manga I usually read but reading about the many antics of the "Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture" or easier known as Genshiken, has reminded me of my days in the Lifearts club.

Yes, I do drop by the clubhouse these days, but I refer to the times when I was there. How I joined the club. How I dragged Rahayu along. How I met Hong Chen, Richard, Bryan, Huijie, Maurice, Jojo, Simon, Grace, Shaun, Kelvin, Pearl, Xiao Hui and Jarvis, Jeff, Cheryl, Pei Boon and so many others as I practically lived in the clubhouse in my days at SP.

Reading Genshiken is like a guilty pleasure for me as I'm not as an acclaimed otaku as the rest of my friends are. I'm more into manga. But as I read the comic, the number of references which I understood made me feel ashamed and proud at myself. And thus I continued to the next chapter and onto the next and onto the next.

What I liked most about this is the many varieties of people inside the club. There's the plain but hardworking president-protag (Sasahara), the ultimate Yaoi fangirl (Oribe), the-I'm-just-hanging-around (Kasukabe). Then there's also the very enthusiastic but veryveryvery weird member (Kuchiki) which I think is a staple in every club. *laughs*

Those mentioned above are so very similar to the many personages that walked through the doors of the clubhouse. We all had our own interests in joining the club. But one thing for sure, none of us came out unchanged.

And we all became a family. I miss you guys. ^_^

When Cows bark...

My week has been hectic really. It was a depressing start with the death of my only grandfather left. We had to tell my parents where were on their nth honeymoon to Jordan. It was tough. Next day was the funeral which after that I had school.

I was moping around a bit, still putting my feelings in order. When I went to the lt for tutorial I was told I was an hour late. GOD! So I had like 2 hours until my next lecture. Btw, my schedule sucks. Start very late.

On Wednesday, I had my right bottom wisdom tooth removed. It was causing me nerve damage and a heck of a tooth ache. So yeah. The excavation cost me $400 but I can talk easily on that day itself. So I feel that he did do a good job. No bruising at all. Food for me though has been soft foods cause I can't open big and my other side hurts more than my stitched gums.

Thursday. School again but I had a meeting in the afternoon before my class.

Friday, today. Felt like more than a week has passed. My mother came back from Dubai this morning. Did a little research for my FYP (I think I found some things!) And went shopping with my family.

Plans:
Saturday. Mage as usual and date Huijie. *loves*
Sunday. Mage again to teach. New people, new faces and same hyper kid.

Havent been updating this place for some time. Just that I've been lying around the house the past few days, slacking. I told myself to do my report. But after that draft, I kinda lost my steam. Sigh...

On the costume front! Really lost my steam here. I mean, I was honestly working hard making that armour skirt and then suddenly after cosfest I just didn't feel like working on it anymore. Whats more, whe I last tried it on, It didn't fit!!!

Yes! It didn't fit! Not because it small. It's because I lost weight recently due to me being sick and my back being what it was until the urut session. Seems like when I weighed myself, I found myself at 67kg. Well that was 2 weeks ago. Now I think it's back to 70. But my waistline's gone down. and I have to redo the skirt because of this.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad bout my weightloss... Sigh...

I'm frustrated... My GOD! My costume cannot be completed because the cloth wasn't enough. So I gotta get more... 3 yards more in fact. I should have told her that I didn't care for the pattern much, just how good the exposed parts looked. @_@

And my helmet... just for a reference... how should I fix it? btw, I feel lucky that the craft foam did not dissolve away when I spray painted. I can't say much about my foam head though... its pitted away horribly!

Thought I had enough for the whole bleedin' skirt but not freaking enough... Still not enough.. sigh.. I give up on Pella for now... I can complete by cosfest and I'll have 2 costumes then. Sigh...

I am so... In love!!! Koei Warriors released the DW6 Databook scans in very high res. I think I'm done downloading it. Since it's like a multi release with so many pics, the site slowed down so much so that i get blank pages. Not that is not a norm for me with my bad connection sometime but it was bad. Anyway... been making some edits to the databook scans. Just because the white line is just so horrigible.

Hmmm... Is it just me or does DW6 has a lot of hint-age of yaoi goodness? XD

For example:

Lu Xun and Sun Quan. Ummm about this, the chemistry between them is unmistakeable, neither is the unneeded touches. ~_^

Lu Meng and Gan Ning. They have a nickname for each other and they quarrel like an old couple. And... they touch each other way too many times.

Zhao Yun. It seems like he is suffering from a slight bit of the "broken wrist syndrome" with the line: "Neither my heart nor my spear is broken. I shall withdraw."

Rebuild of Evangelion

Has anybody watched this yet?

Short review:
To watch this movie, the watcher must have at least some idea what Evangelion is. Cause it's just a compilation of the anime series with the frills cut out. If you have watched the series, you'll enjoy the technical scenes with remade graphs and animation. If you haven't, you're (not) alone with the confusion.

Long review:
The movie is as the title says: A rebuild of Evangelion. The series is taken, pulled apart, scenes remade with modern CG, the frills taken out and it all put together to make the movie. As a fan of the series, I enjoyed the seemingly different but similar scenes of how the system fails, the little scenes included of the strategy planning for the fortress angel and Shinji's travels to Tokyo-2 and back.

As the series starts, Shinji arrives in Tokyo-III just in time for an angel attack. Angel number 3 (for which shall be henceforth known as No. 3 cause for my life I can't remember its real name) is plummeted by the tax payers' money and revels in it while Shinji remains confused, wimpy and rebellious to his father. After some mental manipulation by Gendou in the form of Bandaged!Rei, Shinji is literally pushed into the entry plug.

Same as the series right?

Well yeah. Nothing much more to add there. Except that new scenes that were inserted includes the outright declaration of Gendou's manipulation of his son for himself and an ending of (a naked) Kaoru's Entrance from out of the a box out of several boxes on the moon.

I say: do watch the movie if you want to relieve your memories of this excellent series. If you have yet to watch the series, You might be confused at the technological jargon used in the series but you can enjoy the techie bits of animation involved and Shinji's mental breakdown under his parent's pressure. Its $10 definitely well spent.

As a new generation of anime watchers view it, as what happened for the last time the Eva series was shown, I shall say it:

I just bought a copy of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam at $79. Then I heard that some of my friends at Mage got it for cheaper. Whatever. I'm fine with my copy and totally in LOVE with it. (I'm actually ignoring my sayang for 2D men in metal suits) XD

So far I've played Kamille in Zeta in the Official mode. Finally finished it due to one irritating person called Scirocco. And I SWEAR I will forever have a grudge against Baund Docs. Damn Jerid.

And I've touched Heero in his ever flashy Wing Zero. Pity not Kai version, but hey. Its still fun to play him. Yusof though, finished him. Pity.. oh well. I can always play him again myself.

Oh yeah I've got so many costumes stacked this time round! Its gonna be Fun! (Seeing how I'll be cutting cost on food for myself this year just for the costumes and my weight!)

Okay... no one it seems... alrighty! Anyway, Its 1am right now, just came back from supper with my chubby lil sis. Had egg and onion prata and another egg prata. Not bad, just a bit on the too filling side. Then again, this is also my dinner. =p

Right now, I'm on holiday (for the month), got loads of manga from the Chuang Yi manga fair last week and I've got a new laptop from the manga fair!!! I'm getting ready my costume for next year's Cosfast. So, if anyone of you know where I can get the bamboo umbrella please tell me!!!

I really love this series, mostly because for the bishies and oh so slashable but un-slashable content. ^_~

This time round though, they've given the characters a makeover. Some ranging from utterly horrible (Daddy Dong) to ultimately scary (Lu Bu)!

For some of the listings:

Lu Xun - Dear Xunie got a more feminine and tribal look. His weapons look the same old short ranged ones but i may be wrong.

Cao Cao - Mr "I stand there frowning" Cao looks like his armour got stripped down.

Dun - I love his new look! XD Weapon wise... uh... no comment?

Zhang He - In the past Warriors Orochi, he got fashion tips from Nou-hime, Oichi and Okuni to finally get this look. Wonder how he fights with that lace from his arms

Zhuge Liang - Ah Liang got a more rugged look. I wonder whether that lightning attack is part of his normal attack or its orb assisted.

Sima Yi - Claws FTW! Attack wise, he's more physical.

Zhang Liao - He's looks thinner or maybe its just my computer. His twin sickles look much better.

SSX - Wuh? What happened to her? Kunoichi and Huang Zhong mix?

Sun Ce - Like his armour, but in turn he looks thinner rather than stout and strong in the past games.

Sun Jian - He's taken the Evil Warlord look away from Cao Cao. I like!

Zhou Yu - Leggings. 'nuff said.

3 brothers - Bei got younger and generalized. Fei, no change. I think he got some income for that expensive looking embroidered overcoat. Guan Yu got tips from Guan Ping on dressing up.

Anyway. A quote from the Odex site:

"Based on searches ...... there were more than 400,000 instances of downloading in Singapore. Singapore was found to have the highest level of anime downloading in the world by population."

My reaction to this is that they have to use their brain for a bit! Really Have they thought that Singapore's population is like only 4 million? 'By population', meaning like 10% are downloaders. Have they given any thought that 400,000 people is like peanuts compared to the population of Japan? Or even US? >=( I'm unamused at their inability to see past the percentages and into the true value. By statistics, yes we have like the highest number of downloaders. By value we should have one of the least! Why not they look into another country with a bigger pool to bug?

On a better note... nothing... I've got to go back studying my structures...

Cosfest galore!!! long post warning!

Cosfest has been fun! It was a 3 day affair this year, unlike the past few which has been one solitary day. I had like 2 costumes ready, Umbridge and dementor. But as fate would have it, I did not receive my wig on time. So what would I do? I use this as an excuse to get a new hair style! XD Presenting!!!

Yep, a shoulder length curly bob! Just because Umbridge has curly hair which I don't! XD

My close friend, Grace came back from Australia the other week, when I was sick/busy with my costume. She said it was a surprise. Damn right it was a suprise! Was cursing/shouting with joy at Mage when I saw the pic Shaun sent! Anyway, took a pic with her on Saturday!

She's a pretty gal. Pity she gets mistaken as a guy even with her longer hair. Before, it was short so it was still understandable how a tall and broad-shouldered person like her can be mistaken as one. But now? sigh... At least I saw her in this top which made her look ever so much female! Take that!

How did my cosplay go? Well... here's a picture someone took. Huijie forgot which album he took this from so if anyone knows... please tell so I can credit!

What did my sayang cosplay? His was an SD Gundam! XD He was sooo cute!!!

Other notable cosplays!!! Koutetsu sangokushi's Koumei-sama and Son Ken-dono was there on day 2! And on day 3 was Honda Tadakatsu and Mori Ranmaru of Sengoku Musou! Oh how I drooled at their cosplay! It was totally excellent! With the details on not only the prop but the clothes as well! sighz~~~ I hope to achieve that level the next time I cosplay.

For those of you who's known me for no matter how short of a time, you know how obsessed I am with the HP series. The world is so elastic, so fantastic, has the potential for so many things happening such as the Horcruxes which was revealed in book 6. Anything can happen with the last book. And I'm betting that Harry dies... in the hand of his best friend: Ronald Weasely. Yes!! Backstabbed, betrayed and finally killed! He gets brought back to life with Wormtail giving his life in place of Harry. Oh yeah. A lot of things can happen and many will.

I'll be cosplaying too!!!! Yeah, I'll be cosplaying a closed-minded, sarcastic bitch with girly tendencies for the colour pink and pictures of cats in almost every corner of her room! Not to mention, she also has one of the most elaborate wands I've ever seen!!! I'm talking about Dolores Jane Umbridge. The UMbitch! Oh yeah!

I've just completed the wand today. Took me like so many weeks to find the bloody wooden beads, or at least just something that looks like it. I've fallen to using Buttons which was expensive... *cries* And which I finally found the bloody beads today at the shop near my house. I feel so sad now.. especially for my approximately $20 spent on Buttons itself. *cries*

I'm rather proud of this thing. Held together with glue and a wire to keep it stiff, I'm hoping it will stay as it is. If it just breaks apart... well you'll see a very emo me after that. ^^;;

My grandmother, the one who recently got the stroke, just celebrated her 69th birthday yesterday! ^_^ She was silent but at least she smiled and look (slightly) relaxed. We had mango cake from delifrance and pizza! Whee!!! There goes my diet but its fine. Then again, today is my little sister's b-day. More! Eating!!! We're going to Sakura International buffet later. ^^;;;

The line that streaked through the middle was the final blow to its internal workings. It had served us faithfully for the past 12 years (approximately) following us through thick and thin. Since the start of my holidays I've been 'busying' myself with a shiny new game by Koei. No, I'm not talking about Gundam Musou, though I do wish it. I'm talking about Musou Orochi. I managed to get my hands on a copy and have been playing it quite a ways. I'm still having trouble with getting Sun Ce's Personal Item. Grrrr...

So what's Musou Orochi about? Its about a megalomaniac who thought it'll be fun to bring together the most chaotic periods of Chinese and Japanese history and let them him and each other battle on their home ground. The result? A messy, just-kill-everybody war with no regard to strategy. Between the 4 stories there is not much of a relation between them. I would LOVE to play on Orochi's side but not that there is... sigh... v_v

Since there is a mix of the sengoku and sangoku characters in the different stories, there is bound to be new relations and pairings. Like in the Wu story, Hanzo Hattori and Tokugawa groups together with Sun Ce to bring back the Sun family and defeat the person who brought them to this forsaken land. In the Wei story, Mitsunari pairs up with Cao Pi. In Shu... we get to see Zhao Yun tied up. *glee*

The list is endless! Just so that Mitsunari and Cao Pi is too irresistable, I did a little fanart on them!

Notes: After the fight with Orochi, Cao Pi was feeling left out with all the people flocking around his father instead of him, the real architect in the downfall of Orochi. To lift his spirits, Mistunari brought him to a onsen. It did help to loosen some of Cao Pi's anal retentive behaviour. Well with the help of a few nice strong sake (which surprizingly survive the transition between worlds) Cao Pi was putty in his hands.

POTC madness!!!!

Watched POTC 3 yesterday. Funny was funny but it didn't do it for me. Unless you like Johnny Depp in various state of minds and undress, this show's for you. The show is rather like spidey but worse. Too many things happening at once, too many things left not shown in the movie and the script was not that fun. Humour was left to slapstick goodness and overused scenes.

To give an overall view:

The pirate world is being wiped out. The only way to save them against the East India Company and the Flying Dutchman alliance is to bring all the Pirate Lords together to fight. The only problem: Captain Jack's one of them and he's now in Davey's Jones Locker which is at World's End. The journey takes them to Singapore, to one of the poles, down a HUMONGOUS waterfall and a nice sea water bath underwater with the ship.

We get to see Will trying to act gentlemanly, James Norrington in a confused state, Elizabeth in only a bathrobe, Jack topless, Jack tattoed, Jack brainless, Jack bringing a new meaning to the movie Multiplicity and Jack acting noble. Barbossa being Barbossa, his actions is the only one that remains straight and true.

Oh yeah, You get to see the Great Sotong King in a bucket...

Alhamdulillah. I saw her just now. She's looking better, with all the energy to move. Fact is that she's not well enough to be moving around, I mean walking around but she's like insisting that she MOVES. I mean like she tried to get off the bed like 5 times the 20 minutes I was standing beside her. But still at least she's fine.

My grandmother is currently feeling very confused. She doesn't speak much but I can guess most of the questions are like: Where am I?; Why am I here?; How did I get here? etc. So that's the reason for her agitated state. So much so that we had to tie her to the bed. Sigh as much as I don't like it, but moving around is not good for her still unstable brain. Other than that, she good. Slightly feverish yesterday but her grip's still very strong. My little sister can testify to that.

Though I'm still unsure on how you take care of stroke patients. How do you feed her? She's still being fed by the tube. But when she gets back how? We have a maid to help us but recognition is almost gone. Motor skill are there but weaker than ever. Sigh... Help me. Dear God, Help me have the strength to support my family during this period. Amin.

I've just returned from the Hospital. Tan Tock Seng Hospital sure has the facilities for the elderly folk and my grandmother is a returning guest. She's in the ICU right now. Hopefully she'll be okay.

She suffered a stroke this morning but was only discovered by the maid only about 30 mins later. This was because she was in the loo (coz she has this thing about privacy even though she has her dementia). The paramedics came but the morning jam prevented them to do much for her.

The stroke, a bleeding 3 cm clot in the left side of her brain, left her right upper body paralysed. I cannot see her smile again. She has beautiful teeth at 69. No dentures, no cavities. Plain beautiful teeth and a smile that strikes my heart with joy. When I was there, her grip on her left was still strong. She murmured something, but none of us could understand her. I just stood there holding her hand. With my voice like this, I couldn't say much.

We left her with my aunt watching over her. I hope she gets better.

Pray for her.

Manga, Sunday morning and Hotdogs!

I couldn't sleep last night. Well I did have my sleep. For about the 2 hours I was downstairs, I slept during the extra time of the game between Chelsea and Man U. Yes, the game was that boring with both side playing the cautious game of "Oh, throw far then might get to the other team! So kick close..." Bleargh...

Anyway, after waking up, I was (not) surprisingly awake. (Cmon! After having slept about 15 hours the DAY before). So then I spent my time reading the manga I rented from the Mage shop. The selection was as diverse as you get singlish language. I got Legal Drug vol 3, Kitchen Princess vol 2, Esperanca vol 1, Finders series vol 1 and 2, Boku no Koe vol 1 and Hot Gimmick vol 1. AND finally a novel. Okay okay so I was bored. Then again I managed to finish all BUT the novel last night and managed to catch like 20 mins of sleep before being woken up for the morning. (The Finders Series is the best of the lot! X3~~~)

And so after a morning meeting with the peeps from T.Arts, we went bowling~!!! Okay so my legs still hurt from the PT on Friday, but I needed to move them. What better way then lots of walking and bowling! My score was not great after not playin for so long but heck, its better than getting the gutter all the time! Huijie came about somewhere in the 2nd game. After that we (that is, Jie and I) went off on our own.

We went around to rekki for the price of the a game Jie wanted. I was kinda stuck with drawing on one of the wacom tablets on display. So fun!!! XDDD I managed to draw something but colouring just escapes me... *cries* I need lots of help and practice... *cries somemore*

Dinner was a GREAT affair! We had a hot dog meal each. I ordered mine a regular Chicago and he ordered a LARGE Texas Ted. Mine was so big I could hardly get it all done. Huijie's was so much bigger but he finished it off just like that! Well, guys DO have larger appetites... >_> Here's some pictures of the day!

To quote my friend, Tueac: Something interesting behind a boring title. Yes! The list is out! We've been warned SEVERAL times in fact. So now they've stepped it up.

What am I talking about? Heard about HIP? No, not the one that goes crack when you try to sit down. It stands for "Honour Intellectual Property". So that = HIP? A bit lame but they get the message across.

Right. I'm talking about downloading anime from the net. Not direct download. But from torrents. The list is out on the list of anime titles that are licensed in Singapore. Where? Here!

A glance though the list and the first question one would ask is: THEY ARE LICENSED?!?! The next question: If they are licensed where can they be found?!? Fact is, dear people, the titles which are licensed in Singapore are just unavailable off the shelves. Meaning they cannot be bought! If they can be bought, they will usually follow the norm and will sub in CHINESE and dub (if available) in CHINESE.

CHINESE!!! Not being racist at all here but DO they realize that not ALL of the people who watch japanese anime or japanese/korean/cantonese drama are Chinese people? The basic reason that I download these anime is because They are only available in Chinese. A language which I HAVE studied despite it NOT being my 2nd language. HECK its not even my 3rd! I'm a Malay. A Malay person that loves other things that the soppy romance drama on Suria.

One example is the not that recent sale of Deathnote Movie by Poh Kim. Yes, I've watched the movie on screen. Therefore I want to buy it a copy to watch in the comfort of my own home. BUT! Its only subbed in CHINESE!!! It has... wait for it... Chinese DUBBING!!! BAH! I cannot even enjoy the movie that way. I cannot enjoy any movie if I do not understand it.

So my point. If you have it licensed, get it done so that many people if not ALL can understand it. Get it done with good quality. Get it ON THE SHELVES so that people can buy it.

Odex, if you ever come across this post, Great job so far but I'm waiting for more DVDs to appear, Thank you.

Its been a long time since the last update! I've been rather slacking after the exams! XD Reading manga, watching anime, drawing stuff! Seems like I've been rather busy instead of lazy! Than again I've gotta start on my costume! ^_^ Now if only my monetary funds can cover me well enough... *cries*

Anyway, right now lemme give you guys a synopsis of one of the manga I've been reading: Parfum Extrait 0 by Kaori Yuki

It is said that by looking into another's eyes you can tell much about a person. So does one's scent. This manga is a one shot complete manga recently translated by Chuang Yi, written and drawn by the artist of Fairy Cube, Kaori Yuki.

This is a manga about an expert perfumer (read: not Perfume peddler), Kanade Saikawa, who is able to remember and distinguish every scent and odour he has smelt before. The fragrances he create goes with the person's personality and style making each of it unique to the person. It is a mask the fragrance it, but it never hides the heart of one who wears it.

The first story is of one of his customer who was rumoured to be harrassed by an unknown man thought to be one of the Yakuza. Body guards for the girl has not deterred the man from the girl. It is then known that the girl is missing from the mansion and that her mother was gone overseas. By chance, he had stumbled onto the scent he created on the streets, but it was tainted with the scent of "Death". By using his nose to follow the unique scent that he created for the girl he found himself at a rundown building filled with the choking scent of roses. It leads to a bigger story than just a missing girl from the streets.

The second story is of Kanade's Past. Approached by a magazine, about a popular internet rumour of the "Perfume of Death", he tries to explain that its impossible for a scent to kill somebody. It was until a person who bought such a bottle of perfume from an online shop died shortly after she opened the bottle he did not believe such a rumour. But with his nose, he caught the slight scent of almonds beneath the fragrance which he identified as his "Felicia no. 8". Was it murder? or accidental suicide? Afterall, the perfume he created was discontinued about 2 years ago. Read the story which follows Kanade's past regarding a love triangle and death.

The third story is of how a fragrance can cover up memories if it causes such a deep impression to a person. Perfumes can also form false memories to mask the harsher reality to the person in concern. Be mesmerised as Kanade does his magic using his Fragrance Organ to uncover the truths beneath the false.

Overall, the manga is a nice short volume with beautiful detailed artwork that is characteristic of Kaori Yuki. Good for those who are looking for a short yet meaningful read into the world of perfumers and those affected by them.

Exam ETA: exactly 2 WEEKS!!!!

Currently at school accessing from a computer. Just bought 2 books from popular (better late than never!) and a long overdue green highlighter. My old one is dying but enjoys a very long life!

Was late to class just now. Why? Came out early, caught an early (relative to my usual) train... And got stuck between Admiralty and Woodlands~~. Why? "This train will be delayed due to an accident. We apologise for any inconvenience caused." >_< WOODLANDS!!!! WOODLANDS!!! PEAK HOUR!!!! Bloody heck I know that the current trend for easy suicide is dropping yourself onto the train tracks but forget your selfish self and at least go at OTHER times than the peak hours!! Your selfishness brings woe to most others who DON'T know you, don't WANT to know you, have OTHER things which are more worthy of their time then YOU!

Okay I'm being an asshole here. But I JUST DON'T CARE. Call me insensitive, thick-skinned etc whatever! I do not care WHY you have to commit suicide. Not many others care else well. Because, when you're dead, you're DEAD. You can't change anything else. It takes guts to go on living! So Go! Shoo! Go back to your life! No matter how miserable, it will take a good turn sooner or later!

Now, unless the fall-into-the-tracks is a total accident or a homicide, that's my $0.02.
